Field Study to the Return-It Depot

We had an absolutely lovely time visiting the Panorama Ridge Return-It facility.  Jay and Ann were our hosts and introduced us to the world of recycling and what it looks like when we do 'our part'!  So many of my little ones already can tell me that this is one of their jobs at home.  

After the introduction to the facility and what happens when you arrive with your bottles, we were given bags filled with treats and 'swag'.  So exciting!

Jay showed us the posters and directed our attention to the different items that can be recycled and made into a variety of things that we use.

We were allowed to go into the back of the facility and see what happens to the bottles.  The Kindy's were especially thrilled to see the machine that squished the air out of the bottles and cans to save space.

This cube of squished bottles is approximately 450 individual bottles.
