Our First Exhibition!

“My Silver Rocket Ship”
I wanted to create a silver rocket ship.  I made the rocket ship at home with my sister and it is so cool.  I painted the earth for it to rest on.  It looks like it is taking off into space.  I would like to go into space one day!

“My Yellow Rocket Ship”
I designed and made a yellow rocket ship with my Mom.  Yellow is my favourite colour .  I am the only one that will go in the rocket ship because it only has room for one!  I want to go to outer space, I want to see the stars and I also want to go visit my Grandma’s house.  One day I want to make a bigger rocket ship for my Mom and I!

“My Beautiful Castle”
I wanted to make a castle because I like Princesses.  My favourite colour is blue and that is the colour of my castle.  If I could build a real castle I would build it in a beautiful park, because I like playing in parks.  I painted the castle at school, and added sparkles.  My Mom helped me finish the castle at home.  I wish that I could live in my castle with my Mom and sister and that we could play there everyday.  I love my castle!

"My Princess"
I wanted to create a Princess.  I like Princesses and all their pretty gowns.  My favourite Princess is Sleeping Beauty, because she sleeps.  I chose pink, purple and yellow for my Princess.  I love the colours pink and purple.  My Princess has beautiful brown hair, wears a tiara and glass slippers.  She has a beautiful gown from her Fairy Godmother.  My Princess loves her dress so much that she wears it all the time.  I would like to be a Princess!

              “My Rocket Ship”
I made a rocket ship because I want to blast up to space.  I would like to go to Mars and visit funny aliens.  My rocket ship is painted with my favourite colours, blue, orange and gold.  I think that it would be fun to go into space with my brother Devon.  If Mrs. Petersson and Ms. Rossy wanted to come with us that would be fun adventure!

“Superbot”
I created a robot and named it Superbot, because it is a robot and it is super!  I chose red and blue because they are my favourite colours.  I love robots and think that they are so cool.  If I could go somewhere with my robot, I would go to the moon!  My Mom helped me at school with my ideas and my Dad helped put my robot together at home.  I love robots!

“My Sparkly Castle”
My Mom helped me to make a beautiful castle.  We painted it purple and pink because they are my favourite colours.  It has beautiful jewels on it.  I want to live in my castle all by myself.  I want to be a Princess!

“My Monster Truck”
I designed a blue monster truck with my Mom and my sister.  I painted the monster truck blue because that is my favourite colour.  My Aunty also came and helped me at school one day.  My monster truck has really cool wheels and flames coming out of the exhaust pipes.  I would like to drive my monster truck to Disneyland.

“My Airplane”
I chose to design an airplane that was red and blue.  My Dad and I looked at designs on the computer and collected boxes for my project.  My Dad helped make an amazing airplane!  It is called ‘Rance Air’ and it has my hand prints on it for decoration.  I wish that I could  really fly in the sky with my airplane!

As you can see by their smiles, they have had a fabulous time designing and creating their projects for the exhibition!  Many thanks to the parents for their willingness to help put their ideas into a wonderful project!

Some of our completed projects for our "Not A Box" exhibition

... no longer a box... but a work in progress...

The beginning of our "Not A Box" project!

 “Not a Box”
First of all... thank you so much for all your help with this project, it has been so exciting to see the wave of enthusiasm spread from the children who sat in cardboard boxes while the story “Not a Box” was read, to your enthusiasm to help your children put their dreams into reality.  Several projects have been already finished and we are excited to have the final designs completed by Wednesday, Dec 5th, please ensure that your child’s project is delivered to the school on or before Dec. 5th.  Our first exhibition is on Thursday December 6th for the PALS program (3-4 yr. olds and their parents) Our second exhibition will be next week on December 13th, when we have early dismissal (1:45pm) and parent teacher interviews.  We are hoping to organize another exhibition in January and will let you know the details as soon as possible (we may need your help with transportation of our special exhibition!)

Before choosing our boxes we designed our projects!  We even used these cool clipboards to carry around with us when we were choosing our boxes!

Choosing our boxes was so much fun! Wait until you see our finished projects!
