Hoedown 2012

Our very own scarecrow...             Miss Lyn-Nell!   Always adding laughter and smiles to our days!

For the first year of a long standing tradition at our school, the Kindy's were able to learn some new songs and participate as the youngest participants at the Hoedown this year.  They enjoyed learning the fun songs, the actions and playing their kazoos! One of their favourite parts of the event was having so many family members watching them perform! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to join us for the Hoedown!  Tuck the kazoos and bandanas away somewhere safe for the Hoedown next year!

Once the Hoedown was over we were all very happy and very tired little cowboys and cowgirls!

A visit with our Grandfriends!

October 2nd was our very first visit to meet our Grandfriends! We spent time visiting and colouring with our new friends.  While I watched my kindy's during their first visit with these antique boys and girls it was as if they had been friends for a very long time! Our intergenerational visits will occur twice a month where we will spend time working on a variety of art projects to display at a spring art exhibition.  Many of our parents were able to assist with our visit and are thrilled to be involved with this part of our kindergarten program!

Open House Scavenger Hunt

Thank you for joining us for the Open House.  The little Kindy's certainly enjoyed touring you around their classroom as well as the rest of the school on a scavenger hunt!  Many expressed how happy they were to be able to show you their work, the various classrooms that they go to as well as introducing you to their class fish and for some their Grade 6 buddy!  For others, their favourite part was the last item on the list... thank you for joining them for a 'photo shoot' in with our special gold frame!  It certainly gave them a lot to draw about in their books the next day!

Our Sharing Feast

In October we had a wonderful moment enjoyed by all three Kindergarten classes and their families.  We had our Sharing Feast in the gym where we enjoyed an amazing amount of delicious dishes representing many different countries.  The generosity of our families was out of this world!  What a wonderful way of enjoying each others company.  Many thanks for all you do for us here at school, and thank you for entrusting us with your children.  It is a privilege to be their teachers!

Remembering Terry Fox

The Kindergarten students were able to participate in their first school wide event in September and ran their part of the Terry Fox run with enthusiasm!
